About Us


The Alberta Enterprise Group (AEG) is Alberta’s common sense public policy advocacy group. Simply put, we are focused on improving life for all Albertans.

Founded by a blue chip group of economic leaders, AEG came together in the public interest to work towards lasting prosperity in Alberta. This can only be done by promoting balanced economic growth, efficient government services, open and accountable government practices, supporting strong Alberta communities and setting long-term goals with a vision and plan to meet them.

We are an independent organization challenging all levels of government to make common-sense decisions in the public interest.


Our Purpose

We commit ourselves to:

Our Members

Through their various companies, members of Alberta Enterprise Group collectively employ over 30,000 people and generate several billion in economic activity each year. AEG members are committed leaders, with a proven track record of giving back to the community and province through charitable, community-based initiatives.

We represent the following industries: Accounting,  automotive,  communications, computer software, construction, electrical, engineering, energy, financial services, grocery, hi-tech medical, home building, industrial supply chain,  insurance, legal, manufacturing, project management,  property development/management, real estate, restaurant, steel, tourism, transportation.

Our Organization

We are an independent, non-partisan organization governed by a board of directors, funded by our activities and our members. Our President is Tim Shipton, former Director of Finance with the PC Party of Alberta. Our Chairman is Cal Nichols, a well known business and community leader in Alberta. David MacLean serves as Vice President, Communications and Policy and is a former Saskatchewan Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation.
